After a long journey the train the legendary train was however protected by an entrepreneur and a rail enthusiast named as James B. Sherwood. During 1977 he bought the carriages to the auction Sotheby in Monte Carlo. After these next few years million was spent in purchasing and restoring some 35 vintage sleepers, Pullmans and restaurant cars and finally in the year 25th May 1982 the legend was reborn.
